What I do

My role at DU involves overseeing Master’s-level Social Work students throughout their internship placements. I provide guidance and support to ensure they gain a meaningful and impactful field experience. Additionally, I serve as a liaison between the Graduate School of Social Work (GSSW) and our partner agencies, working to foster positive, collaborative relationships that benefit both the students and the organizations where they are placed.

Professional Biography

Christie Talkington is a dedicated social work professional currently serving as a Field Liaison in the Graduate School of Social Work Program since 2022. With a career spanning various clinical and community-based settings, Christie brings extensive experience from roles in residential treatment centers, inpatient mental health units, and a range of community programs. Her primary area of expertise is child welfare, where she has consistently demonstrated a strong commitment to supporting fellow staff members, children and families through complex and often challenging systems.
