What I do

Em Moratto is an intern with the Institute for Human-Animal Connection at the University of Denver. She earned her undergraduate degree in American Literature from George Mason University in 2014, and is an NCCC AmeriCorps and Teach for America alumna. Em’s research with IHAC focuses on human-animal-environment interactions (HAEI), and how they impact stress, self-regulation, and attentiveness. Her other research interests include (but are not limited to) suicide prevention for LGBTQIA+ youth, and medical transition for transgender and non-binary adolescents. Her master’s concentration is in Sustainable Development and Global Practice (SDGP). She is a co-creator of outofyershell.com.
