Before the pandemic, Butler had delivered training to county attorneys via an in-person learning experience, the Colorado Child Abuse, and Neglect Attorney Academy. However, with in-person experiences canceled, Butler used their expertise in learning technology to pivot quickly by moving the academy online. Now county attorneys can learn anytime and can refer to the modules indefinitely.

Currently, there are five of the anticipated seven self-paced eLearning modules available. These free and interactive modules follow a family involved in a child welfare case from start to finish highlighting the various legal and social work considerations. While this learning opportunity focuses on what county attorneys need to know to serve families effectively, the academy is available to anyone who wants to better understand the process and best practices.

CLEs are available for attorneys who complete the course. Go to the academy’s homepage to begin your learning journey. And if you want to learn more about how Butler’s eLearning developers can move your training online, contact Michelle Clinch at Michelle.Clinch@du.edu.
