GSSW Scholars Study Impact of Denver Basic Income Project

Researchers at the University of Denver Graduate School of Social Work Center for Housing and Homelessness Research have been studying the impact of the Denver Basic Income Project on homelessness. It is the largest basic income study in the nation.

The Denver Basic Income Project gives unhoused Denver residents cash with no strings attached. Results in the first six months have been promising: The program has reduced homelessness and increased full-time employment. “On average, everyone felt more confident about their future housing,” the midterm report says.
