Resources for Field Education Community Partners
The Graduate School of Social Work is one of the nation’s top social work graduate programs, and our field education community partners are part of the reason why. Our partner field agencies help mold the next generation of social workers by providing social work master’s degree students with real-world work experience and mentorship. In return, agencies are able to augment their services with smart, enthusiastic students who bring a culturally responsive practice perspective, apply a social justice framework to their work, and are trained in the relevant theoretical and clinical approaches and evidence-based practices. Agency partners also are offered training to keep them abreast of current social work topics and enhance their supervisory skills.
We offer more than 750 field internship options in Denver, throughout Colorado, and internationally in a wide spectrum of practice settings. Join us as an educational partner! Field agencies must:
- provide meaningful learning activities for a graduate student for 16–20 hours a week for a full academic year
- provide the student with one hour of supervision each week by an MSW-level field instructor
- attend a field instructor orientation session provided by GSSW
