Prison Research and Innovation Network
PRIN is a voluntary partnership between Sterling Correctional Facility (SCF) and a research team at the University of Denver. Together, we are working to improve outcomes for incarcerated people and correctional staff using data and collaborative decision-making.
The Prison Research and Innovation Network is a five-state collective to improve the wellbeing of people who live and work in prisons. The Network, or "PRIN," includes prisons and research teams in Colorado, Delaware, Iowa, Missouri, and Vermont. Teams were selected by the Urban Institute to receive a grant from Arnold Ventures. In Colorado, PRIN is a voluntary partnership between Sterling Correctional Facility (SCF) and a research team at the University of Denver. Together, we are working to improve outcomes for incarcerated people and correctional staff using data and collaborative decision-making. Research components involve annual prison climate assessments consisting of surveys, interviews, and ethnographic research with incarcerated people and correctional staff, as well as impact evaluation of programs, practices, and policies designed and implemented as part of this action research project.
