Professional Biography

Ashley Metoyer (she/her/hers) is a Black cisgender woman, first-generation college student, and first-generation Belizean immigrant. A Licensed Clinical Social Worker, she holds advanced degrees in Social Work and Public Administration and certifications in nonprofit management. Before joining DU, Ashley led the development of a mobile crisis response team at the University of California, San Diego. At DU, she will collaborate with Dr. Anthony Fulginiti to research suicide prevention and intervention for BIPOC college students through an abolitionist and social justice lens. Ashley is also trained in Trauma Sensitive Yoga, is a dedicated fur parent, and is an avid hiker.
