What I do
I coordinate with agencies and organizations in becoming internship partners with GSSW as well as support students through the internship placement process for both the Denver campus and MSW@Denver program. I deeply appreciate the ability to explore new spaces for social work to emerge while ushering in new cohorts of social workers into the profession.
Professional Biography
Channing Spears is an MSSW that graduated from Steve Hicks School of Social Work at The University of Texas at Austin in 2016. Channing has worked within the community providing mental health services to homebound older adults through an NIH-funded research program, while also serving folx across the life span at a low-cost, sliding scale counseling center. Channing began working at GSSW in 2020 coordinating internships for students and since then has taught field courses as an adjunct faculty member with the MSW@Denver program, and supported students as a field liaison in the Denver campus program.
