What I do

Hannah Nibauer is in her second year of the MSW program at the University of Denver's Graduate School of Social Work. She specializes in Sustainable Development and Global Practice and is earning a certificate in Animal Assisted Social Work. Her experiences with animals ranging from training specialized working dogs to working in the veterinary field, have inspired her to dedicate her social work practice to the wellbeing and humane treatment of animals. Working with IHAC has been a fulfilling part of her social work career as a student and researcher.

The human-animal bond has been a constant in Nibauer’s life. This bond paired with nature-based interventions are extremely important to her, and she plans to investigate these connections during her internship with IHAC. Catch her climbing up a mountain, doing yoga, or hanging out with her guinea pigs in her spare time. Nibauer looks forward to expanding her knowledge in the field of social work research.
