What I do

As part of GSSW Student Affairs, I work with MSW students to bolster students facing career and co/extra-curricular engagement. I am passionate about helping students engage in meaningful opportunities for growth, career development, and connection. 

Professional Biography

Lucy is the Career and Student Engagement Coordinator at the Graduate School of Social Work (GSSW). In this unique role, Lucy combines career services with student engagement to holistically support students throughout their academic and professional journeys.

She provides individualized career advising and designs a wide range of career and engagement programming for students, staff, faculty, and alumni. Her work includes organizing events and presentations, developing marketing materials, and managing outreach efforts such as the ADVOCATE student newsletter. Lucy also supports key community-building initiatives, including the GSSW Neurodiversity Network, the GSSW Mentorship Network, and all the GSSW student affinity organizations. She partners with faculty advisors, campus and community partners, oversees student organization budgets and expenditures, and maintains student organization training resources.

Before joining GSSW, Lucy worked as a Therapeutic and Executive Functioning Coach for college-aged students across the country. In that role, she helped students develop skills in career planning, academic success, executive functioning, advocacy, time management, organization, and cognitive flexibility. She also has experience supporting neurodivergent children, youth, and families in various settings including Clifford Beer’s Community Care Center and Yale’s Child Study Center.

Originally from the East Coast, Lucy earned her master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Fairfield University and a bachelor's in Psychology from Villanova University. During her graduate studies, she discovered a passion for working in higher education while serving as an intern at Southern Connecticut State University’s Counseling Center.
