Professional Biography

Shikha Advani is passionate about helping folks in marginalized communities who experience eating disorders and trauma. Shikha earned her master's in nutrition from Boston University and her master's in social work from Simmons University. Shikha is currently earning her PhD in Social Work at the University of Denver and works virtually as an ED therapist. Shikha's research interests focus on the intersection of eating disorders, weight stigma, and decolonization. Shikha hopes to integrate social justice and decolonization in the field of eating disorders in order to better serve marginalized communities. In her free time, Shikha enjoys trying new food, reading, and spending time with her cat, Jellybean.
