Xochilt Alamillo has a BS in Human Services from the Metropolitan State University of Denver and a MSW from the University of Denver. After completing her master’s degree, she served as a school-based therapist and trauma informed consultant in schools. She has served on various research projects within Latinx and Indigenous communities, all aiming to bring awareness and provide much needed resources through a strength-based lens. Her research interests include working with Latinx youth, specifically researching ways in which having a strong sense of ethnic identity can increase mental wellness and promote positive academic outcomes.
