December 2025 Community Highlights
GSSW faculty and staff are advancing social work research, education, and practice
University of Denver Graduate School of Social Work faculty and staff continue to be recognized as leaders in the field by peers and the broader community. Here are some of their recent accomplishments and community impacts:
- Assistant Professor Mónica Gutiérrez was selected for the William T. Grant Foundation’s Early-Career Reviewer Program. This competitive program develops emerging reviewers and strengthens peer review in the Use of Research Evidence portfolio. In this role, she will review proposals and bring expertise in community partnerships, racial equity, and policy-relevant research, work that will benefit our students and research community.
- PhD Student Sarah Sullivan was awarded an LGBTQ Caucus Society for Social Work and Research Conference Travel Scholarship.
- The GSSW Staff Co-Chairs & GSSW Staff would like to congratulate Assistant Director of Enrollment Megan Jarrad, who has been elected as the next GSSW Elected Staff Co-Chair. She will begin her position January 2, 2026.
- PhD Student Erin Flynn was selected for the 2025 Outstanding Dissertation Proposal Award by the University of Denver Graduate School of Social Work.
