November 2025 Community Highlights
GSSW faculty and staff are advancing social work research, education, and practice
University of Denver Graduate School of Social Work faculty and staff continue to be recognized as leaders in the field by peers and the broader community. Here are some of their recent accomplishments and community impacts:
- Associate Professor Marquisha Lawrence Scott was elected by her colleagues in the 2025 Society for the Scientific Study of Religion (SSSR) election to be the "Council Member from a Field other than Sociology." Scott will assume her duties on the SSSR board following the SSSR 2025 Annual Meeting (November 2025).
MSW & PhD Program Coordinator Freyja Hofler passed their comprehensive exam oral defense on October 14. Their dissertation project title is The Poetic Nature of Education: Stories of Professional Staff Program Experiences via Poetic Inquiry through a Wellness Dimensions Framework.
