Mile High Behavioral Healthcare – Knowledge is Freedom (HIV)
Goal: Provide trauma-informed “one-stop” services to people experiencing or at risk of homelessness to increase preventative, medical or behavioral health care and decrease risk-taking behaviors
In partnership with Mile High Behavioral Healthcare, we are providing a comprehensive process and outcomes program evaluation of Knowledge is Freedom, which will serve 300 clients over five years. Knowledge is Freedom focuses on individuals with substance use disorder (SUD) and SUD with co-occurring mental health disorders who are homeless or are at risk of homelessness, as well as the LGBTQ+ and transgender populations. While all racially and ethnically diverse groups are disproportionately affected by HIV/AIDS, these subpopulations are even more deeply affected due to multiple barriers, discrimination and marginalization.
