Masters in Social Work/ Master of Arts in International Development Dual Degree

Curriculum Plan

The MA in International Development focuses on development theory, policy-oriented decision-making and analysis, politics of institutions, and in-demand practical skills. The program prepares students for careers in government, multilateral and bilateral development agencies, non-governmental organizations, and the private sector. The MSW emphasizes social justice, a systems approach to diagnosing and addressing problems, and clinical skills for engaging with client systems at the micro, mezzo and macro levels. Combining these two degrees makes students uniquely adept at working internationally or domestically within cultures that are new to them and require specialized skills at engaging communities and individuals to address complex problems.
