Assistant Professor Tyrone Hamler was selected to participate in the highly competitive Butler-Williams Scholars Program sponsored by the National Institute on Aging (NIA) which provides unique opportunities for junior faculty and researchers to gain insight about research on aging from a number of perspectives.
Assistant Professor Tyrone Hamler received an external research grant from the Donor Alliance, a non-profit organ procurement organization and an American Association of Tissue Banks (AATB) accredited tissue bank serving Colorado and most of Wyoming to conduct a research project titled, “An investigation of organ transplant aftercare practices in an Organ Procurement Organization (OPO) in Colorado and Wyoming: History, Donor Family and Recipient Experiences, and Opportunities for the Future.”

Assistant Professor Jason Lester was appointed to Governor Jared Polis' Transforming Criminal and Juvenile Justice (TCJJ) workgroup. The efforts will enhance juvenile and criminal justice service delivery across the great state of Colorado. This is his second Governor Polis appointment in 2023.
On September 1, 2023, Jared Polis, Governor of the State of Colorado, appointed Assistant Clinical Professor Jason Lester to the History, Culture, Social Contributions, and Civil Government in Education Commission. Jason and his cohort of panelists will formally make recommendations to the State Board of Education when the state board performs its scheduled six-year review of education standards so that those standards and programs accurately reflect the history, culture, social contributions, and civil government of the United States and Colorado, including the contributions and influence of American Indians, Latinos, African Americans, Asian Americans, LGBTQIA2S+ Coloradans and the intersectionality of significant social and cultural features within these communities.
