Professional Biography

I began pursuing my career in social work at Christopher Newport University (CNU) in Newport News, Virginia, where I graduated with my BASW in 2018. During my time at CNU, I was awarded the NASW VA Student of the Year Award (2018) and I also had to opportunity to co-present findings from my research project on college student mental health at the Association of Baccalaureate Social Work Program Directors (BPD) Conference in 2018. I then moved to Denver, CO to continue my career through the Advanced Standing program at the University of Denver(DU). During my time as a student with DU, I participated in a research team associated with REALYST that was focused on disseminating research findings that had been collected by REALYST members regarding youth experiencing homelessness. I graduated with my MSW in 2019, with a Children & Youth Concentration. I then spent 2 years working in community mental health in a rural community as a School-Based Therapist. I then spent over a year working for an employee assistance program providing therapy services, trainings, and leadership support for associated organizations and employees. After this role, I transitioned into opening a private practice, along with beginning my career in social work education.
