The City and County of Denver is preparing a package to help support workers and businesses that will be hit hardest by this emergency. Additional details will be announced soon. In the meantime, we want to remind you, so you can remind your constituents, about existing resources:
- Property Tax & Rent Relief Program

Food Distribution
If you have high need, you are encouraged to contact Hunger Free Colorado’s Food Resource Hotline. If you know anyone in need of food assistance, please use this online referral form.

Denver Human Services
To protect the health and safety of the community and help limit the spread of COVID-19, all Denver Human Services facilities will be closed to the public beginning Thursday, March 19, 2020 until further notice. While in-person transactions will be unavailable, staff will continue to offer critical support and safety services for Denver’s families through online and phone services from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Services and transactions accessible online or by phone 720-944-4DHS (4347) include:
- Applying for benefits (food, cash, medical, child care assistance, RTD Live)
- Reporting changes
- Submitting documents
- Checking benefits status
- Paying child support
- Access information about rental assistance
- Download applications for energy assistance and property tax relief

People Experiencing Homelessness
The city is recruiting volunteers to assist at our homeless shelters and in the supplemental and respite facilities that we are setting up around the metro area. Volunteer now.

Cleaning Supplies
You can donate cleaning supplies and other materials for homeless shelters from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday at the Martin Luther King Jr. and La Alma/Lincoln Park Recreation Centers (3880 Newport St. and 1325 W. 11th Ave., respectively).
