Orientation is a combination of asynchronous work (work done on your own prior to orientation), live Zoom sessions and optional office hours. Participation in all sessions is mandatory unless otherwise stated.

The Future of Social Work: 9:00–9:45 a.m. MST
This session will include a welcome from orientation hosts, remarks from Dean Amanda Moore McBride, and Q&A time with Dean McBride and Denver Campus Program Director Kate Ross.

This session will include Associate Dean for Academic Affairs Lisa Reyes Mason sharing about graduate student expectations and current campus access protocols.

Advising Break-Out Sessions: 12:30—1:30 p.m. MST
This session will include an advising overview from Denver Campus Director Kate Ross and group discussion about hopes and fears related to graduate school.

Tools to Help Navigate DU/GSSW: 1:45—2:30 p.m. MST
This session will include an introduction to our Student Services teams. Get to know your Assistant Dean for Students, as well as Career Services, GSSW Registrar, Professional Advising and Student Engagement and learn how these teams will support you throughout your student experience.
